CHRISTOPHER ENUMA
Chris had his university education from university of Benin and university of Lagos both in Nigeria where he obtained B.Sc. (1984) and MSc (1987) degrees respectively.
He commenced his career as a University Lecturer at the former “Bendel State University in Nigeria (Now split into Delta State University & Ambrose Alli University).” In 1992, he joined “Western Atlas International” as Processing Geophysicist and rose to the position of Team Lead in “Western Geophysical” division of the company. In 1996, he joined Elf Petroleum Nigeria Ltd, now “TotalEnergies Exploration & Production Nigeria Ltd”. He held the following responsibilities: Geophysical Operations Coordinator: (1996-1999), Exploration Geophysicist: (1999-2000). From 2000-2002 he became the Head of Seismic Acquisition & Processing for the Nigeria subsidiary.
Chris proceeded on International Assignment to TotalEnergies Head office “Scientific Center (CSTJF)” in Pau-France from 2002-2007 as Reservoir Geophysicist and later became “Technical Studies Lead” in France in 2005. He returned to Nigeria subsidiary in 2007 and was appointed “Geophysics Operations Manager” for the Nigeria subsidiary.
From 2009 – 2014, he occupied the position of “Deputy General Manager, Geosciences & Reservoir” of USAN field Development Project (OML138). In February 2014, he was appointed General Manager Joint Venture Exploration & Geosciences Support. From 2015-2017 he became Regional General Manager Exploration, responsible for Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Sao-Tome in TotalEnergies Group.
In 2017, Chris was appointed General Manager TotalEnergies Geosciences Discipline & Geophysics Operations, overseeing all Geosciences studies in the Nigeria subsidiary, ensuring technical quality, on exploration, appraisal, and development activities in the subsidiary. In May 2022, he received an “Award of Excellence” during TotalEnergies celebration of 60 years anniversary of Operations in Nigeria.
Chris Enuma became “General Manager in charge of Corporate Geosciences and Specialties” in TotalEnergy Nigeria subsidiary, the position he occupied before retiring in April 11th, 2023 after achieving the mandatory age of 60 years. He joined “The International Center for Energy (ICE), West Africa” as an Associate Consultant and also is “The Director of ICE-Energy Learning School (ICE-ELS)”. Chris is a member of the Board of Directors of ICE-West Africa.
During his career in Western Atlas and TotalEnergies, he attended several trainings both locally and internationally. He is a member of several professional bodies. He has presented and co-authored more than 30 technical papers on Geosciences in conferences and seminars in and outside Nigeria.
