Electricity plays a major role in the energy transition. It helps with decarbonisation, which is essential for the energy transition.

Electricity is even more impactful in the transition when it is generated by renewable energy sources. However, to achieve an increase in the use of renewable energy, there must first be access to electricity.

This is a major challenge for Africa, as less than fifty percent of the African population has access to electricity. It is therefore imperative that Africa move from fossil fuel-generated electricity to renewable energy.

ICE-JET shares this vision of Africa’s transition to renewable electricity, and one of its flagship projects, Illuminate Africa (Project AI), was birthed in response to this challenge. JET Africa, through Project IA, is committed to facilitating the advancement of clean electrification as well as solar, wind, green hydrogen, and other alternative green technologies towards energy generation and universal access in Africa.
